Frequently Asked Questions..!

This page will hopefully answer some of the questions that you may have...!!

PRICES:

Q - How much do you charge?

A - I have compiled a Price List for guidance ....

Q - What Kind of payment do you accept?

A - I will accept Card payments, Bank Transfers, PayPal & Cash

Q - Do you charge a consultation/fitting fee?

A - No.

Q - Bridal alterations seem so costly. Is this realistic?

A - Yes, this is because the work that goes into a wedding dress can be extensively more labor intensive which means that it can take more time & hence cost more. Although it does rather depend upon the style/structure/type of wedding dress.

APPOINTMENTS:

Q - What are your hours of business?

A - Monday to Saturday, 10-4pm. Closed between 11.30 - 2pm

Q - Can I stop by without scheduling an appointment?

A - I do prefer clients to either have an appointment or to have previously informed me that they wish to pop around. Please call or message me in advance to make these arrangements.

Q - Do you do home visits?

A - Due to having no mode of transport I am unable to visit your home.

Q - Do you do evening/weekend appointments?

A - Saturday is a good day for appointments although I prefer NOT to do evening/Sunday appointments (I have to have a cut-off point somewhere). Under very special circumstances I may be able to accommodate you.

Q - How much time do you need before I can see you?

A - This really does depend upon my workload & both of our schedules. Please Note: For members of a wedding party, I require a minimum of at least 6-8 weeks notice before the ceremony is due to take place, thus giving me ample time to complete the work.

FITTINGS:

Q - How much time should I plan for a 'Fitting'?

A - Basic alterations, such as hemming, usually only take 10-15 mins per garment.

Therefore  the more garments you have, the longer it will take.

Brides please allow up to an hour for your initial 'fitting', especially if you are having complex/multiple alterations on your wedding dress. Any further follow-up fittings can last approx 30 mins.

Q - What do I need to bring for my bridal/formal wear fitting?

A - The garment(s) requiring alterations + shoes that will be worn with the garment (or ones with the correct height) + foundation wear - hoops, slips, bras, long-line shapers, etc.

Q - How many 'fittings' will I need?

A - Normally it is a minimum of 2 = your initial fitting + a final fit. However, if further adjustments are required then additional fittings will be necessary.

F.A.Q.

MISCELLANEOUS:

Q - Do you do beading/embellishments?

A - Yes.

Q - What is the time frame for your service?

A - This depends upon my workload & sewing schedule. Simple alterations & mending I can normally complete within a fortnight. Bridal & formal wear typically needs approx 6 weeks or longer. Always allow ample time to avoid the stress of any unforeseen delays (i.e. ordering & receiving of specialist materials).

F.A.Q.

Q - Do you work with leather/suede?

A - No, it would be better to find a specialist on these materials.

Q - Do you offer an emergency/rush service?

A - Yes, if you are in dire need & my sewing time allows. However, if you require this service within 2 days then an additional surcharge of 25% of your final fee will be added.
